This volume contains all of Byron's poems written before Childe Harold's Pilgrimage: the lyrics and imitations published in his first volumes and not published by the author at all, and the satires written around the Mediterranean tour which was to result in Childe Harold, which between them brought Byron to the notice of the literary and critical community.
