Beskrivelse
Protest Poetry is basically a collection of poetry covering a variety topics from love, hope, disillusionment, abuse by teachers and relatives, private limited, poverty, election violence. This book is written in Unconventional approach of poetry. The book discusses critical issues in a humorous manner. Those familiar with the story of Zimbabwe will be able to relate to the poems and even fit the names of the characters. Incidentally, any African can easily relate to the issues being raised here. The issues of cultural abuse are also raised in the poem; it started with Baba Mukuru where the young lady was abused by the sister's husband and then by the teacher. 'I am the cocked am the headman' talks about a leader who was abusive and promoted and or demoted people according to allegiance and loyalty and not on meritocracy or professionalism. The situation created bootlicking and robotic mentality. The book also talks about death caused by substandard road infrastructure and produce and other crops failing to reach markets due to impassable roads. Humorously, it also talks about addiction on many levels be it drug, power or sexual addiction.
