Beskrivelse
Hope Strategies, A Classroom Toolbox for Developing Social-Emotional Competence, is a compilation of strategies and lesson plans for teachers. The procedures are intended to help teachers provide support to students in their classrooms who struggle with behavior, responsiveness, participation, social engagement, or emotional regulation. The strategies and lessons are derived from the original social-emotional learning program by the same author. They are reformatted to become accessible for individual teacher and classroom applications, without the higher level of structure, extended time commitment, and mandate that come with formal, school-wide programs. There are resources included that address multiple layers in the challenges and needs of these students, their teachers, and the classroom environment. Also included are ideas for looking beyond the classroom. This provides a selection from which each teacher can choose what is needed for his or her specific situation and student. It also allows each teacher to retain control and flexibility in adapting and accommodating to meet unique conditions and circumstances.
