Kari Underwood, an investigative reporter, writes an expose' about fraud, but quickly finds her prospective respondent has died. The police write it off as an accidental death until a second victim dies in similar fashion. Is this related to her story or could it be something more sinister? Jason has his own crisis at the Sutton CID and leaves to join Kari, the love of his life, in the States. However, a cold-blooded killer is on his trail, seeking revenge for the death of his brother. Tracking down a serial killer, Kari must also cope with a stalker, while Jason is concerned that the deadly man on his trail could assassinate them both at any time.
