Dr. Paul Dovre, consummate educator and churchman, speaks knowingly of the holy restlessness that is inherent in people of faith who wrestle with God's call even while heeding it. In this collection of sermons, chapel talks, and homecoming homilies selected largely from his years as president of Concordia College, Moorhead, Minnesota, Dovre explores a "holy restlessness" that is at the very core of our being: A restlessness he describes as "unanswered and perhaps unanswerable questions...a restlessness that comes in trying to reconcile our need for unity as a people and the reality of our diversity...a restlessness found in the tension between suffering and hope." Ours is a restlessness made holy by God who calls us to deal with the restlessness we find in the world and in ourselves by acting in faith and "using our knowledge in the construction of helpful response."
