Beskrivelse
During the Great Depression of the 1930s thousands of people throughout the world lost their means of livelihood. In Nova Scotia and across Canada, many took to the roads and railroads looking for work. They left home with just what they could carry and in most cases that didn't include money. They trusted to the generosity of the communities they passed through for food and shelter. This book is a series of short stories about the many men who passed through the central part of this province and of the people who welcomed them into their homes. It is told from the point of view of those that fed these men, not from the hobos themselves.
