Beskrivelse
Viewing history as a grand drama, Froude emphasized great personalities and disdained the scientific approach in his historical writing. This epic, twelve-volume narrative presents a vivid portrait of a tumultuous era. The sixth volume begins with the death of Edward VI in 1553 and the dispute over the crown between Lady Jane Grey and Mary Tudor. It then follows 'Bloody Mary' through her reign, until her death in 1558.
