Historic Resource Study for Muir Woods National Monument

This report provides park managers, planners, interpreters, and the interested public the information needed to better understand the cultural history and significance of Muir Woods. It is written as a Historic Resource Study (HRS) synthesizing all available cultural resource information from various disciplines and entails both documentary research and field investigation. This report is divided into three parts: Part I: Land Use History; Part II: Muir Woods, William Kent, and the American Conservation Movement; Part III: Recommendations and Appendices.
