The leaves die, but the tree is full of life.
The Copeland family has been a part of the small town of Bluebird Haven for several generations. Cooper and Kathryn work hard as the heads of the family creating memories and sharing advice to their loved ones. However, when their son and daughter-in-law die, the aging couple steps up to raise their four grandchildren: bossy Nora, feisty Dakota, peacekeeping Graham, and sweet Maeve.
Now, years later, Cooper and Kathryn live their final years enjoying what seems to be a calm existence. However, their lives are not perfect. With Kathryn suffering from memory issues and the family barely seeing each other, Cooper wishes one gift for his ninetieth birthday: to have his whole family home to celebrate with him. Yet, it does not seem likely. Nora and her husband are busy raising their children in St. Louis. Dakota is in Kenya serving as a doctor. Maeve is in Springfield seeking a teaching job. Graham and his wife live in Bluebird Haven, but they need to focus on their growing family. It would take a mind-blowing miracle of God to get them all home together.
As the leaves change color and fall to their deaths, the Copeland family may get the reunion they have needed for years. However, things may not be as easy and carefree as any of them hope. Will they find common ground to heal hurts of the past? Is it possible for the Copeland family to get a fresh start? Sometimes, old things need to be lost to make room for new ones.
