Lord Charles Blythe impulsively chooses the first woman he sees as a fake bride. What happens when he discovers she's a governess?
Charles must produce an heir to prevent his loathsome cousin or the man's obnoxious son from inheriting. Since the death of his wife, he has had no desire to wed any of the young, empty-headed women that society thrusts at him. Emily Nicholls seems perfect.
Except the one thing Charles needs, Emily cannot provide. The same Christmas wish has haunted her for years - to have a family of her own - but after six years of marriage resulted in no children, the widowed Emily began to care for others instead, although it does not quite fill the hole in her heart.
When Charles convinces Emily to join his family for Christmas, they find themselves tempted. They will have to decide which Christmas wish should come true - love, or duty?
