Heist-eria at the Masquerade

Ever since Faye moved to Paradise Cove to take over her aunt's metaphysical bookstore, her normal life as a PhD student has become anything but.

Barely escaping a close brush with death and with their magical cat familiar happily recuperating in a nearby feline-spa of a hospital, Faye and Luke, her partner-in-crime-solving, are all set for some much deserved downtime. That is, until an invitation to a grand masquerade lands on their doorstep.

Amidst the glitz and glamour, Faye discovers an uninvited guest under the catering table, and a priceless relic goes missing, causing paranoia and pandemonium. The mogul of Paradise Cove enlists Faye and Luke's help to investigate, much to the dismay of the police chief.

Meanwhile, rumors ripple through the town, linking the mysterious disappearance of the relic to ancient native lore and whispers of a monstrous creature believed to be more than just legend.

The plot thickens further as a palm reader emerges from the shadows and an eccentric man claiming to be the Count St. Germain adds another layer to the mystery. With the weight of ancestral myths looming, they've got their work cut out for them.
