Jocelyn knew letting go of the past and the love she lost would never be easy, but she never imagined she would be forced to do so with a horde of suitors beating down her door. As the Lady of Artois it is Jocelyn's duty to grant these suitors hospitality, no matter how pompous and demanding they may be. Alas, no matter how her wealth is sought after or how many bid for her hand as long as her heart is lost to the past she will remain a coveted prize for those who believe they can win her. It is only when the aged Mortan, Lord of Summerly comes calling that Jocelyn's life, and all she once thought she longed for, dramatically changes. He brings with him the offer of friendship, but his intentions are cunningly masked. He needs Artois to save his own floundering holding and he will stop at nothing to gain that which will save his beloved home from ruin. In the midst of Summerly's deception Jocelyn begins to let go of her own demons and find the life she once thought would never be hers to live, but can such a life be lived when Summerly's true intentions become known and everything that so recent brought her comfort is twisted into a tangled web of deceit.
