In every country the health system carry out essential tasks. However, the health services are controlled and organized very differently from country to country. This book presents some central models, terms, and theories which may be used to describe, understand, and evaluate the health system and its work. The prevailing subjects of health policy are accounted for, and the current management and health economic methods are discussed. The book contains a detailed overview of the Danish health system, describing its structures, professional groups, and activities. Furthermore, the book presents the main elements of the many health reforms which characterize the health systems, both in Denmark and internationally. The target group of this English edition includes international students joining the many educations related to the health system in Denmark as well as foreign professionals already employed in the Danish health services. The authors represent different professional competences, contributing with various perspectives on the health system and its many aspects.
