'He Shoots! He Scores! A Tale from the Iris the Dragon Series' addresses the topic of self stigma and family stigma. The book provides a medium to help people understand the challenges that a child, with a mental health disorder, faces. 'He Shoots! He Scores! - A Tale from the Iris the Dragon Series' is the sequel to the book 'Catch a Falling Star'. In 'Catch a Falling Star', the topic of Bipolar Disorder is introduced through the experiences of a young, nine year old boy called Fish. In 'He Shoots! He Scores!', Fish is forced to cope when his support routine is disrupted just as he enters adolescence. His new community isn't as understanding as when he was a child due to the stereotypes and attitudes that exist in society about mental illness. The Mental Health Commission of Canada conducted a scientific study to determine the efficacy of Iris the Dragon's narrative formula to change attitudes about mental health on 'He Shoots, He Scores!' and found that after 20 minutes of reading the book, attitudes towards mental health and wellness changed significantly in the majority of the assessed students.
