Haley Walks 200 Miles on the Camino de Santiago

To celebrate her 12th birthday Haley and her favorite Auntie walk 200 miles on the beautiful and historic Camino de Santiago in Northern Spain. This 1000 year old pilgrimage trail takes them through tiny villages and larger towns, from the treeless hot plains to the mountains, as they walk to Santiago de Compostela in the far west of Spain. They travel on dirt paths or asphalt roads, in the heat or cold, sometimes in early morning darkness as they meet other fellow pilgrims all on "The Way" to Santiago. They stay in albergues (pilgrim hostels), eat in local bars (restaurants), see wonderful sights as they walk through history, 10 miles or so each day. In the course of her journey, Haley finds the magic of the Camino in her self discovery. This is the story of her Grand Adventure. This illustrated book is recommended for ages 8 to 14.
