Haiku Collection XVII

This is the seventeenth anthology of original haikus by the author. This collection features nature and the four seasons in Japan, incorporating its culture, literature, and history. This volume also includes haikus about nature scenes as described in the literature and music of the Western hemisphere, as a point of reference for comparing the two distinctive cultures. This a unique bilingual anthology and presents each haiku in both Japanese and English so that non-Japanese-speaking readers can fully appreciate it. In order to enhance understanding, the identification of the season word of the haiku-an essential element in haiku-as well as the brief cultural and historical backgrounds of the haiku are given where applicable.
