GUILTY UNTIL PROVEN INNOCENT: Another action adventure novel from Mel Leonard

Paul Bowland is the president of Local 201 of the Continental High Steel Workers Union located in Pittsburgh. In this capacity he leads a team of delegates who negotiate contracts with construction companies for the benefit of the union members. In turn he reports to the head office in New York City. It is not a dangerous job yet after a heated disagreement with Juan Monerra the Executive Vice President of the CHSWU Paul suffers an attempt on his life. The police believe that Monerra is involved and using Paul as bait they set a trap to catch Monerra in the act.Subsequent events see Monerra killed in Colombia although to the Pittsburgh Police his disappearance comes as a surprise. They begin to suspect that Paul may be involved. That he either killed or had Monerra killed to protect himself but they cannot find evidence.Paul is not aware that he is a suspect, and continues to consider his life to be in danger. The police, however, are sure, and despite the lack of evidence they begin an investigation while taking the attitude that Paul is guilty until proven innocent.
