Guidebook to Stress, Meditation & Happiness is a companion to Vic Shayne's book Stressing Out Over Happiness and highlights the way our minds work in perceiving and creating our reality, as well as stress, trauma, attitudes and desires. One of the greatest obstacles to realizing true happiness in our modern world is stress. And, to understand stress, Vic Shayne explores how the mind works in coloring our perceptions of the world around us. In many respects, modern science has confirmed the teachings of ancient sages who have long taught that thoughts and mental conditioning affect the health of our bodies. Further, science has shown that the mind and body are one unit, each affecting the other with an ongoing cellular exchange of information. While several major universities have been researching ways of achieving happiness by applying their state-of-the art equipment to measure the efficacy of age-old meditative practices, there are still many questions that science cannot answer. Shayne explores the fascinating qualities of the mind that determine our reality and states of well being that science has no way of measuring or observing - consciousness, qualia, feelings, ideas, and human emotional and mental experiences.
