Beskrivelse
The book focuses on the conditions for the circulation of media information across borders in Europe. In case studies from the greater region SaarLorLux, a region strongly characterized by the highest cross-border mobility within the EU, the contributors outline barriers and chances for the formation of an interregional media space. The first part of the book discusses media practices and contents, e.g., in twitter communication, the spreading of local news across borders or the use of smartphones by cross-border commuters. The papers in the second part deal with institutional aspects of intercultural media practices in border regions. The papers presented here study the influence of professional association and interest groups, the role of PR instruments as press conferences or interactions between media, region and politics. The book is the result of an international and interdisciplinary research project with participants from France, Germany and Luxemburg.
