Great Expectations is the 1861 novel by Charles Dickens. It is a coming of age story about a young orphan named pip. Set in the mid ninetieth century the story of Pip depicts scenes of love, rejection, poverty, prison ships and chains, and fights to the death. They are some of the most well-known and remembered scenes of Dickens' writings.
