On her 85th birthday, Grandma Bell and her six cats are pulled into a world of adventure by a wizardly cat-herding elf, shape-shifting teen triplets, a crafting Sisterhood...and an evil Red Queen in a steam-punk airship who is determined to destroy everyone. Grandma Bell awoke to unexpected adventure on her 85th birthday. Except for six perfect cats, and her doctor, she thought no one remembered who she was. A flood of colorful cards and letters pushed into her living room by a magical elf told a completely different story. Not only did others remember her birthday, but an entire community of students and instructors were waiting for her inside Catsclaw Castle and Acatemy - The Superior School of Woolen Battle-Arts and Felineick Magic. A battle was underway between the Castle's Sisterhood of the Knitting Needle and the evil Knighthood of Needlepointers. Grandma Bell became unknowingly locked into the fight-as the new Granny Gamma, leader of the Sisterhood. The title of Granny Gamma was appointed to Bell by a sister who disappeared almost sixty years before, and a brother-in-law she didn't know existed. When she learned that a niece, and a set of twelve-year-old triplets also waited, all hopes for a typical day were twisted into a huge ball of magical yarn. Her new family came with a stunning set of incredible surprises. Before arriving at Catsclaw Castle-Granny Gamma, the wizardly elf, and her shape-shifting triplet charges were diverted to their first adventures together. Spirits from a Christmas Tree farm followed a pair of chosen evergreens to a school and were accidentally left to haunt the campus. Then a group of students at an elementary school went missing during a story-travel experiment and needed help if they were going to escape from Bigfoot and the equally legendary Jersey Devil. Afterward, the team was diverted into the Jurassic Jungle and had to battle prehistoric beasts and the wicked Red Queen on her steam-punk airship. A battle ensued that framed the next few months, while cats and students inside Catsclaw Acatemy tried to maintain their dignity, and grades, during a suddenly tumultuous school year.
