Gong Zizhen

Gong Zizhen was an ideologist and writer in the late Qing Dynasty. He was born at a time when the Qing Dynasty was on the brink of collapse and was extremely sensitive to national crises and social changes. He advocated for humanistic pragmatism and hoped to implement political change. Although politically frustrated throughout his life, he achieved brilliant literary achievements. His representative work of poetry, Miscellaneous Poems of the Year Jihai, is magnificent and imaginative and profoundly impacts later generations' poetry circles.
