Ellen Allandale had begged her mother for a different kind of vacation. But traveling to England with her twin brother Carter to visit their Uncle Ruford had not been exactly what she had in mind Just the thought of sitting around in a stuffy old English manor house, sipping tea and eating crumpets, made Ellen's skin crawl. Only when she learned that she was a direct descendant of Robin Hood's friend, Alan-a-Dale and his wife Alice de Beauforest, and that the Allandale family crest contained a golden arrow was Ellen's curiosity aroused. Did the golden arrow in the crest represent the golden arrow Robin Hood won in the famous archery contest in Nottingham town? If so, why? Did it have anything to do with the legend of Robin Hood's treasure? Was it a clue left behind by Alan-a-Dale or Alice? Ellen sets out to solve the mysteries of the golden arrow and Robin Hood's treasure, racing against time and the evil Baron Murdach, a descendant of the Sheriff of Nottingham, himself.
