San Francisco, 1987. Danae, eighteen, unconscious within the neon cage of a sex shop window, stands imprisoned by an evil queen who fears her nascent power. Prince Charming, a novice witch coming off her shift at the strip joint, knows a glass coffin when she sees one and responds with a liberating smash. Life is awesome as the frontwoman for local upstarts Enspelled, or so Danae thinks. Ascending from grimy local bars into the burgeoning death metal pantheon is a grueling dream come true, wishes granted in fierce brotherhood and erotic fire. Until a pomegranate-laced invitation tempts her into the rockstar underworld, a harsh land of occult grotesqueries, pretty predators, the relentless grind of the music industry, and one incredibly snide mirror. But fighting her way back to the surface is no easy feat, not when caught between a tribal-industrial temple and a house of diabolical notoriety, when true love glitters from the heart of a rival, and kindred spirits threaten to silence Danae's voice forever.
