Trained in law as well as in theology, Mark Belz offers insights into the Book of Job from years as a trial lawyer and also from a multitude of life experiences. Stimulated by lectures on Job by a favorite teacher and preacher John W. Sanderson at Covenant College and Covenant Theological Seminary, Belz has reflected on this book of the Bible in a way that the reader will be encouraged to "run with patience the race that is set before us." Echoing Sanderson, Belz emphasizes that the Book of Job isn't first and foremost about Job or "Why do people suffer?" It's about God, his glory, and "What is the relationship between man and God?" The reader will see that the revelation of God's glory produces a responsive faith that binds us back to God.
