Originally written for 7th grade readers, this is a useful companion glossary for anyone reading or teaching The Witch of Blackbird Pond by Elizabeth George Speare. There are over 90 entries including English words, religious and historical terms and more that can't commonly be found in a 7th grade student's dictionary. To accommodate the different editions of The Witch of Blackbird Pond, words are listed by chapter in the order they appear in the book with an alphabetical index in the back. Included in the Introduction is a brief essay on the historical and religious background to assist readers in understanding the overall context of the story.
