Giving life, finding death

Despite the policy of targeted free healthcare for women and children in Côte d'Ivoire, and all the strategies put in place to improve maternal health; the level of maternal mortality still remains high with an estimated maternal mortality rate of 385 maternal deaths per 100,000 live births in 2021 (INS, 2021). This book focuses on the socio-demographic and geographical determinants of maternal mortality in the Gbêkê region.
