The Ghost of White Island by Jeff Lovell
Sandy Gordon, a merciless mutineer and pirate, is hanged by the British Navy and cannot return to his young wife, abandoned and alone on White Island. She remains faithful to a promise to protect his treasure, and her spirit haunts the miserable rock where she had been deserted. Martha is protecting, however, far more than just the loot of Gordon: she also guards the staff of the Israeli High Priest and the wisdom stone of the ancient Hebrews, the Urim and Thummin.
Many years later, McClelland ';Mickey' Logan meets, and falls in love with Karen, one of his students. She however breaks his heart by marrying another man, who deceives and betrays her. She returns to and marries Mickey, and they join her family for a honeymoon/vacation on a cruise in the Caribbean.
Mickey and his niece, McKenna, learn that the treasure of Gordon has never been found, and with the help of young Stephen Levin, the heir of the office of the Israeli High Priest, make their way to the Isle of Shoals to seek the loot of Gordon. Their journey is dogged by a terrorist group who have learned of the the treasure and believe they can use it to fund their nefarious mission.
Mickey, Karen, McKenna and Stephen make their way to White Island, and recover the staff of the high priest, which they use to protect themselves from Awad's gang. Then they recover not only Gordon's treasure and the Urim and Thummin, but they learn the secret of how to set Martha's spirit free.
