Beskrivelse
George's Flag is a novel of political intrigue as the Democratic and the Republican Parties battle for control of the United States. Set in the past, present and the future, George's Flag is the story of the rise of a political machine to elect the first Hispanic President of the United States. The political machine is not one as used by Chicago, Illinois Mayor Richard Daily or State of Louisiana Governor Huey Long, but one of simple people, illegal Hispanic immigrants. Unlike Daily and Long, these immigrants seek power not for themselves but future generations of legal Hispanics. The power they seek is not the power to control others but the power to control their own future. Beginning in the year 2000, a Hispanic girl is born as her illegal mother works in the citrus fields in Florida. The girl is named George, after George Washington the first President of the United States. The gift of an American flag to the newborn child, George's flag, begins a forty year political strategy to elect George Pilar the first Hispanic President of the United States in the year 2040. Packed with plots and subplots, George's Flag takes the reader on an exciting political ride as the illegal and legal Hispanics struggle to take their place in America and form their own political party. What the Hispanics do not know is that the Democrats and the Republicans, to hold onto political power, have been plotting their destruction.
