Colfax and Forest Hill. - The Mines and Mineral deposits of the Forest Hill and Colfax Quadrangles are of particular interest due to the nature in which the Ancient River Channels that provided so much gold in these areas were formed. New channels and deposits are still being found today rich with gold because of the complex and little understood nature of how and where the channels formed. This book mainly covers the Gold Placer and Lode deposits but also all of the geologic formations and other economic minerals such as Chromite, Pyrite, Asbestos and a few more.
