In this seven year anthology of prose and poetry written between 2009-2016, our narrator, Damien Burden (author of "CYST"), carries us through the adverse reality of growing up in a post 9/11 America driven by capitalism and systemic oppression. Burden, who began writing at the age of thirteen while sentenced to a high security prison for juveniles, takes us through his deeply philosophical ethos of adolescence and early adulthood. Through his esoteric approach, we're introduced to an intellect and spirit unrivaled by relentless tragedy, endlessly analytical as he prophesies and flys above himself searching for a glimpse of beauty and oh, what beauty he finds Reflected in his stylistically simple delivery, he never lets us forget that he is a skateboarder first, and a poetic before that.
