Beskrivelse
This manual presents the training process and sessions for the Gender-responsive Researchers Equipped for Agricultural Transformation (Level 2), developed and implemented by Makerere University, Cornell University, and the CGIAR GENDER Impact Platform under the Gender-responsive Researchers Equipped for Agricultural Transformation (GREAT) project. The Level 2 course builds on the GREAT Level 1 course (See Mangheni and Tufan, 2022) focused on plant breeding and seed systems. It is important that the two manuals are used together in sequence, as the Level 1 course is a prerequisite for the Level 2 course. Each session consists of an introduction, and session plan including specific learning objectives, slides, delivery methods, practical exercises and examples, as well as relevant tips and synthesized take-home messages. The sessions were developed by an international multidisciplinary team of specialists in gender and agriculture, and have been peer-reviewed for quality assurance. This manual is meant for facilitators/trainers of applied gender-responsive agricultural research courses. The manual is based on the GREAT training model, which emphasizes contextualization and application of gender concepts and feminist research and training principles in agricultural research disciplines; and in this case, the area of focus was plant breeding and seed systems.
