Sippar, the Babylonian main place of worship of the sun god Shamash, is one of the oldest and most important Mesopotamian cult centers. Stefan Zawadzki devotes himself to this and uses his analyzes of the textile industry in the cult environment of the Ebabbar Temple to investigate the pantheon of the neo-Babylonian Sippar and the involvement of the king in the cult, especially during Nebuchadnezzar II.
