Beskrivelse
The aim of this study is to understand the meaning of the process of functional rehabilitation experienced by public school teachers in Banabuiú-CE, discussing the impact this process has on the lives, identities and work activities of these workers. It is based on the assumption that reintegration into work through readaptation has an important meaning for the worker to be understood, since their absence due to ill health generates a new labour, social and symbolic condition, leading them to experience unique relationships in the workplace, as well as feelings of loss, incomprehension, frustration and failure, affecting their professional performance, as well as a threat to their own identity. This is an exploratory, qualitative study carried out through interviews with the subjects involved. In order to understand the study and evaluate the results, the statements were recorded through sensitive listening and divided into blocks for analysis. It can be seen that readaptation takes place in a precarious environment, with degrading personal relationships made possible by functions that are distorted from professional training, causing illness.
