From One Mended Heart to Another

After two mild heart attacks and a failed attempt to open a blocked artery with two stents, Diane Caputo was sent into immediate bypass heart surgery. In a matter of 48 hours, Diane went from living what she thought was a healthy, active lifestyle back to "square one," needing assistance for the smallest bodily function. Her heart had betrayed her, and it was going to take time to rebuild a working relationship again between her and her repaired heart. In the years since her surgery, Diane has shared her experiences and observations with many other heart patients, encouraging them in their own ongoing journey with heart disease. Now she has compiled a collection of candidly personal, light-hearted "journal entries," written since her "heart event."
