Beskrivelse
The textbook "From Blues to Jazz-Blues" builds a bridge from Blues to Jazz. The development to Jazz-Blues, as it is found in the well-known Jazz standards, is explained on the basis of different Blues forms. Starting from the original Blues with its three chords, step by step through, among others, the swing Blues to the Parker Blues, as well as the minor Blues, 6/8 Blues in major and minor, and their respective differences are clearly presented by means of fingering tables for the chords, scales and arpeggios, and the harmonic relationships are explained analytically. The reader thus learns about the initially simple chord structure of the blues, the various typical Jazz chords and chord combinations such as the II V I in major and minor, the tritone substitute and the occurring step chords from the ionic system, as well as their arpeggios in different positions and keys and the associated scales such as Mixolydian, Mixolydian#11, Dorian, Phrygian, Harmonic Minor 5, the bluestone scale etc. with their fingerings in the different positions on the fingerboard. The author Matthias Fux studied Jazz and popular music with a major in guitar as well as instrumental pedagogy in Frankfurt am Main and has been working as a freelance guitarist in various bands and projects for over 20 years. At music schools and as a private teacher he teaches all ages and levels on the acoustic and electric guitar.
