Jonathan Toole is a sophomore art student at the University of Mississippi. The recent passing of his father, an internationally renown civil rights attorney, has left him severely depressed. During the day, he spooks the locals and alienates students with his shaved head and spray-painted hair. One troublesome night, as Jon is battling his demons, he discovers a spiritual bond with his beloved cat, Una. The insight bolsters his self-esteem as deals with the past. Jonathan meets up with a fiery Irish barista and discovers the life-affirming fire within him.
