Beskrivelse
40 Years As A Country Doc is the life story of Dr. Mervin Johnson. The book begins with stories of his family's roots, his childhood in a rural community, and his grade school and University years. He then shares many memories of his years in Meadow Lake, Saskatchewan, including stories of his work as a rural doctor, with its many challenges and joys, and of his children and family, his travels, his canoe trips, many funny stories, and the many people who were a part of his life.
Mervin was raised on a farm near Strasbourg, Saskatchewan. His first school years took place in a one-room schoolhouse in Butterton, after which he attended Bryn Mawr School until grade twelve. He then went on to complete his undergraduate and medical school at the University of Saskatchewan. After this he went into general practice as a doctor in Meadow Lake.
Dr. Johnson later obtained his CCFP and FCFP, then becoming a clinical professor of family medicine. During this time he was coroner, aviation medical examiner, and was involved in several government committees. He was also always involved in his community and active in his church.
The most important things in his life are faith and family.
