Genealogist Sarah Easton doesn't remember her husband, Vincent, yet she most certainly should.



In 2023, Sarah's family history client lends her a gold medallion plus a portrait miniature of dashing highwayman Lord Vincent Rosingleigh. Sarah tries on the medallion and is transported back in time to 1666 England, a country still reeling from Oliver Cromwell's savage, grey Interregnum.



Sarah arrives in riding clothes, soaked by a puddle on the laundry room floor of Vincent's elegant manor house. Their formal portrait over the mantle convinces her they shared a past life together, and their passion instantly rekindles. A visit to the Royal Court of King Charles the Second reveals that the monarch holds deep secrets, secrets that will undoubtedly change the course of history if the couple refuses to intervene. Sarah is forced to make an unthinkable decision: abandon the husband she passionately loves or alter the future by following Vincent's gentlemanly yet dangerous criminal path.
