Focus of mind

The attacks of 11 September sent shockwaves around the world and left an indelible mark on people's consciousness.The shock was so violent that it practically paralysed analysis and reflection in favour of urgent measures to be taken to avoid repetition.In our Abidjan Appeal, nineteen days before the attack, we warned President Bush and drew his attention to the need to trust his own judgement first. We prayed to God to enlighten his heart, so that he could make the right decisions, being now the only one responsible before his people and before history. As the only one responsible, neither the experts nor his father will be of any help to him if he makes mistakes in his guidance.
