Flowers in the Garden

Flowers in the Garden is a collection of poetry that gives a voice and vision to the melancholy and magic that is often associated with melanin. The many things that people portray on the surface is translated in truth for the spirit with this read from the realm. Smith believes that heaven is a garden and though God sends his saints to earth as seeds, it is their duty to become flowers and make it back to the garden from which they came. Smith has a way with words and that is evident not only in her first book The Book of Real Shit: A Collection of Poetry and Life Thoughts, but also in her second publication.
