For many Americans, reciting the words of the National Anthem is like wrapping yourself in a warm blanket. Familiar, yet sometimes polarizing, these words describe a country that is fast disappearing into the mist of the past. People don't want to pledge allegiance. More often than not what is taught is not the United States of America, but an evil caricature. Most people don't even realize that this nation is a republic and not a democracy. God has been kicked out of the public square and if there is one truth about America today it's that we are polarized and divided. Even the concepts of liberty and justice, when mentioned at all, are twisted so far from their definitions as to be unrecognizable. Can we once again be, as our national anthem states, "the land of the free and the home of the brave"? If we want to be the land of the free, to live with liberty and justice for all, then we must learn to fight for it. But how? Is it possible to fight for liberty without destroying it? Let's see.
