Federal Defendant's Handbook

A wise man once said, "When the Feds knock on your door, they aren't going away." Truer words were never spoken. 98.9% of those subject to Federal Indictment will serve some time in Federal prison. It's the Federal Way and it's not about the truth or innocence, these things have no place in the Federal judicial system. It is not uncommon, especially with first offenders, to assume there has been a mistake, and once it is all sorted out, the government will see the error of their ways and apologize. This is a fatal assumption.
