This is the story of one man's solo voyage from Homer, Alaska to the US-Mexico border, a distance of some 3,000 nautical miles, aboard a 31-foot, outboard powered boat appropriately named Rascal. It follows his four previous solo voyages aboard the same boat that taken together totaled more than 15,000 nautical miles.
The book conveys to the reader what the author calls "the secret thrill of happening upon new places" and the special challenges of doing so alone in a small boat. If you like reading of adventures undertaken for their sheer joy, just for the fun of it, this is the book for you.
