Faerie Dust

For a Faerie noble to steal back a human child slated to be tithed to Hell is treason. The penalty for such an act is death if the Queen feels merciful, or banishment to the dark swamp if she does not. Alasdair knows this. But he loves five-year-old Sachi like a father and will not allow her to be sent to her doom by the Queen of Faerie, his aunt. Alasdair does not understand his feelings for this human child. Faeries do not bond with humans. He seeks the changeling who replaced Sachi as a baby in the human world. If he can bring it secretly back to Faerie, he can put it in Sachi's place and take her home unharmed. It seemed a simple enough plan until Sachi's human mother, Leisa, discovered him digging up her daughter's grave. Now he must take not only the changeling but Leisa to Faerie, as she refuses to let him leave without her. Alasdair warns Leisa of the dangers of Faerie and begs her to stay in the human world with her ward, Sybil. But Leisa lost her child once. She will not chance losing her again. Leaving Sybil with a good friend, Leisa and Alasdair set off to Faerie. Complications arise when they arrive the day of Princess Edeline's wedding and discover that Queen Tazia has sent Sachi to the trolls ahead of schedule. Though disheartened, Alasdair will not let Leisa lose hope. If they can cross the river of tears without the white dragon spotting them, pass the sprite wood and its dangers, and traverse the mountain ledge past the white dragon's and red dragon's lairs, they may yet be able to steal little Sachi back from the trolls before the full moon, when the actual tithe will take place. Staying under the dragons' radar will be the hardest part.
