Beskrivelse
The story of Exodus opens and closes with ancient Israel at work from toiling as slaves for the Egyptians to creating God s tabernacle in the wilderness. In this study, we discover that God s character is revealed in his work. And as we are drawn to him through his self-revelation, his work shapes our work. This not only frames our identity as his people, but it also directs the work he has called us to do. God did not deliver Israel from work. He set Israel free for work.
To capture Israel s character as a nation in transition, in this study we outline Exodus and assess its theology of work according to the geographical stages of its journey, beginning in Egypt, then at the Red Sea and on the way to Sinai, and finally at Sinai itself.
These Bible studies are part of The Bible and Your Work Study Series. Each book contains Scripture references, thought-provoking questions, and prayers to help you explore what the Bible says about work and apply it to your life in positive, practical ways. The lessons in each chapter are designed for thirty-minute lunch breaks, although they can be used in other formats as well. "
