Have you ever wished for superheroes and superpowers to become real?



That's what sixteen-year-old comics geek Jessica Summer does one fateful May evening.



After a school shooting claims the life of her best friend, Jessica wishes upon a shooting star for a world with superpowers, desperate to change the state of the world. To her excitement, she wakes up the very next day with her own superhuman abilities, as do many others worldwide.



But life with superpowers is not as wonderful as the comics make it look. Jessica learns this the hard way as she must now deal with a society fearful of extraordinary beings like her, as well as the re-emergence of the disgruntled young man behind the shooting, who now possesses dangerous fire abilities and uses them to further terrorize the people of sunny Santa Barbara, California on his quest for revenge.
