Jeremiah Riddle was at the end of his rope when he stumbled out of the desert into the negligible town of Outskirts, Arizona, although it certainly beat being at the end of a rope. But he might feel differently if he knew what was waiting for him in that town. For Outskirts was under siege, by otherworldly things the likes of which no sane man had ever lain eyes on before, beings spoken of only in whispers in the Old Country: the Fae.
