Beskrivelse

After three years of working as a Personal Assistant, to her cheating girlfriend, Financial Consultant, Chelsea Wheeler, Glynnys Smart has no job, or home, after being dumped by her with less than 48 hours to leave her prestigious seafront apartment. Glynnys, or Glynn as she is known, is down on her luck. Close friend, Josie Smith, persuades her to go for an interview, for another live-in job, at the Second Chance Animal Rescue Centre situated in an isolated part of Dorset, miles from civilisation, and reluctantly, desperate to get another job, Glynn agrees to go.They turn up at the rescue centre asking to see the bemused Manager, Sarah Barraclough, who suggests Glynn works as a volunteer for a day to see if she is suited to the job. Glynn hesitantly accepts her suggestion, only to find: the working hours are long, the pay is low and Sarah is such a tyrant, she can barely keep the paid staff that work for her, let alone volunteers.Desperate to prove to her friend she can be self-sufficient when the job is offered to her - she accepts, but soon finds an attraction to her new boss is hard to ignore. Sarah is also determined to fight the attraction she finds in Glynn and after an unexpected night of lust with her, a change in circumstances leaves her in no position to enter into a relationship with anyone. She is adamant Glynn will not find out what those changes involve and encourages her to leave, rather than to have to reveal them. Unaware of her employer's angst, Glynn is determined to stay and fights every attempt to make her leave, while the other staff close ranks to prevent her from finding out what has happened for Sarah to turn against her.A chance visit to the hospital, where her friend Kim works, and the arrival of a flea-ridden mongrel, Glynn falls in love with, gives her the courage to tell Sarah how she feels about her, the problems she's facing and how she can help, if only Sarah will let her. Sarah has to battle with her conscience to decide whether she can tie Glynn to the same millstone she is tied to, or let her go but Glynn's persuasive manner convinces her to give her a chance. Only time will tell whether their fledgling relationship can survive.
