What if you were faced with a killer you couldn't see? When a group of miners on the Sikkaran skycity of Port Jericho accidentally release an ancient magick, the Jerachi are assaulted by a force they have never dealt with before. Cadi and her team, part of the skycity's Magisterial force, are assigned the task of tracking down this elusive killer who appears to completely vaporise the victims, leaving no bodies behind. There are few clues, and those available make things more confusing instead of less. The assailant is a phantom in the night, whose trails disappear into thin air. As the killings continue, this city of mercenaries and Hunters begins to fall prey to the fear. The city is threatened with collapse and utter destruction until some rather unlikely allies set things to right and put Port Jericho on a new path.
